Okay, I, at 14 years was playing baseball. Broke my thumb and first finger in a tussle on Second base. Cast placed, and 8 weeks later a blood test came back with AML Leukeumia diagnosis. While the cast was visible after surgery on my left hand for a bone tumor that developed during healing, the cancer was hidden in secrecy, probably from shame by those around me. It was different then.
In 1997, I had a tooth ache. My dentist found nothing, but I asked for more examination for the soreness. Burkitt's Lymphoma in my jaw was diagnosied and I had an agressive treatment to stop it in its tracks. Seems Burkitt's has no grades.
But I fought it and on a flight, met Lance Armstrong, where we talked for 2 hours about our lives. I was a delegate to the Livestrong Cancer Summit in Columbus, OH. There I met a dynamic group of individuals with "I'm Too Young For This...." And they used a moniker I liked, "Stupid Cancer." Well it stuck. They are now called STUPID CANCER, INC., a non-profit helping young people under 40 years and teens live LIFE while living with Cancer. I have been to OMG Cancer Summits before. They are empowering. They are informative. They are awesome. The people in attendance are beautiful. I volunteer with Stupid Cancer in New York City.
In Columbus, Ohio, I met the Dazzling Jonny Imerman and his Angels. 1 on 1 Cancer Support with the cancer you got diagnosed with. If only I had this at 14 or 41, it would have been a god send. I volunteer at Imerman Angels in New York City.
Together we fight Cancer. We want to end Cancer in our Lifetime. And we are tired of doctors who don't recognize that Cancer does not have to kill and young people want to talk about issues that affect their own lives that Cancer screws up in their lives. I am raising money to bring Cancer Patients to the CancerCon 2015 and I want you to support my efforts?
Please support my vision. Visit StupidCancer.com Make a donation to me here on www.Crowdrise.com/timothylunceford I want to raise $2,500 in 2015!
