Founded in 2001 by United Family Healthcare (UFH) CEO Roberta Lipson, the United Foundation for China’s Health (UFCH) was born out of UFH’s longstanding commitment to improving the health and lives of individuals. Although healthcare in China has undergone incredible transformation in recent decades, some populations cannot access medical treatment due to migrant status, abandonment, abuse, and sheer poverty. To address these challenges, UFCH provides disadvantaged communities with life-saving and life-changing medical treatment, surgery, preventative care, and health education. UFCH is able to carry out its mission with generous support from its principal partner, United Family Healthcare, sponsors, donors, and community volunteers.
UFCH has provided medical care to tens-of-thousands of orphans and foster children, and has launched a number of innovative programs that aim to bring healthcare services closer to communities in need.
We build healthy communities through a collection of other programs including a mobile medical clinic, the UFH-Stefan Marbury Rehabilitation Program, the UFCH clinic at Beijing United Family Hospital, the Remote Diagnosis and Training program in Sichuan province, and our Children’s Medical Care Program. We are guided by the belief that every individual deserves fair and equal access to medical care, and we are driven by the notion that better health contributes to poverty alleviation, social empowerment, and community development. Through the commitment of individuals, communities, organizations, and companies we strive to bring the best medical care in China to those who need it most.
