BENEFITING: Break the Cycle
EVENT DATE: Feb 08, 2014
My name is Quasona Cobb, I am 24 years old, and I am a dating violence survivor & activist.
My decision to publicly discuss my experience with relationship abuse came from learning shocking and scary statistics. One in four women will experience intimate partner violence in their lifetime and girls between the age of 16 to 24 face the highest risk of dating violence.
February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Month and we are raising awareness to young adult dating violence by hosting a fundraiser for Break the Cycle.
Break the Cycle is our national teen dating violence agency that have programs like the National Dating Abuse Helpline and "Love is Respect". These programs provide educational awareness to dating violence and emergency service for victims of violence.
Join us on Saturday, February 8 @ 5:30pm for a "Valentine's Anytime Awareness Mixer" at Dyckman Bar (221 Dyckman Street NYC)
