Based in Massachusetts, Veteran Homestead, Inc. is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with six unique facilities throughout New England and Puerto Rico.
Founded in 1993 by Vietnam Veteran, Leslie Lightfoot, Veteran Homestead Inc. offers affordable housing, case management, education and medical and psychological care to veterans that are diagnosed with a terminal illness, are elderly, disabled or are otherwise in need.
Our mission is to provide medical, psychological, and spiritual care to veterans who are diagnosed with a terminal illness, elderly, disabled, or otherwise in need. We provide these services without regard to race, religion, or sexual orientation.
Veteran Homestead, Inc. programs are created by a veteran and staffed with experts who share the compassion and commitment to treat and accommodate wounded warriors in their transition to civilian life.

Hero Homestead, Leominster, MA: 15 bed facility for elderly and/or disabled veterans.

Veteran Victory Farm, Fitzwilliam, NH: 16 bed 80-acre working organic farm supports lifestyle change for the homeless veteran.
Hacienda de Veteranos, Caguas Puerto Rico: 12 bed facility for substance abuse rehabilitation.
Northeast Veteran Training and Rehabilitation Center (NVTRC), Gardner, MA: our newest facility for amputees, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and burn patients and their families. The focus is on education, physical, occupational, and emotional therapy with an emphasis on family counseling along with the life and recreational skills that are so often taken for granted. The NVTRC addresses rehabilitation and community reintegration, restoring the whole person to a life in which he or she can live and interact with friends and family in a healthier and more functional manner.
