The Village Fun Run is a community building, movement focused, family fun-time as well as a great way for families to raise much needed funds for our beloved Portland Village School! This event will be held at Gammans Park on Saturday, May 6th from 10 until 12 followed by a picnic. Like a jogathon, students and their families are encouraged to run laps around a track setup for the event. There will also be various fun movement stations set up for kids and adults to visit and participate in (jump roping, balance exercises, and various obstacle courses). We will finish off the event with a spring family picnic and pancakes at the park.
As a tool to help raise funds, we have set up this event page where family members and friends can support your family in the run. The simplest way for this support to come through is with a set donation for the event. All donations are tax-deductable. Families can also choose to be sponsored for a certain amount per lap that they run. Please visit our FAQ for lots of questions and answers on all aspects of this event.

Why we are asking for your support-
Portland Village School, a public Waldorf inspired charter school sponsored by the Portland Public School district, relies on the donations and the fundraising efforts of its community. As a charter school we receive 58% of the funds that other neighborhood schools receive. This school year our community has raised almost $100,000 from donations, pledges, and strategic fundraisers. We need to reach $174,000 to help cover the cost of quality materials, student field trips, our teacher’s professional development, and to cover our rent increase.
With your help we can hit our goal of $25,000 with this fun, family friendly, active event!
