Community Through Art

Wake Forest Arts - building a strong, vibrant community through arts and cultural activities.

For more than 25 years, Wake Forest Arts has dedicated itself to building community through the arts. Its mission is to support and enhance a strong, vibrant community through the development, promotion and coordination of arts and cultural activities. The vounteers of Wake Forest Arts work to fulfil its mission by producing arts events; supporting local artists and existing art programs throughout our community; and encouraging new arts ventures.

Wake Forest Arts organizes performing arts events including the Six Sundays in Spring and Music at Midday concert series and the Neck of the Woods variety show. Emerging artists often appear at these shows. We support the Wake Forest Children's Choir through scholarships. The local theater group Forest Moon Theater started under the Wake Forest Arts' umbrella as did the Wake Forest Singers adult choir.

Wake Forest Arts is pleased to announce a new performing arts initiative, the Wake Forest Dance Festivalscheduled to debut at E. Carroll Joyner Park on September 30, 2017.

Our organization presents, in partnership with the Wake Forest Farmers' Market, the Wake Forest Holiday Artisans' Market. We assist the Wake Forest Garden Club by placing artists in the gardens chosen for the Mad Hatters' Artist & Garden Tour.

Wake Forest Arts partners with the Wake Forest Guild of Artists to support the visual artists of our community. The Guild provides artists a sense of camaraderie and offers educational seminars and participation in 2-D and 3-D art events. Wake Forest Arts and the Guild sponsor revolving art shows and produce a Guild Member Showcase and an Artist Show and Sale.

Youth programming by Wake Forest Arts includes our Kids Krafts program at Wake Forest Downtown's Mardi Gras and Dirt Day Festivals. At Dirt Day, we present Paint on the Street, a student chalk art competition. Wake Forest Arts also works with the North East Regional Business Alliance to add arts elements to the Wake Forest Youth Connect Conference and the annual Youth Leadership Conference.

All of Wake Forest Art's programs and services are offered free of charge or at moderate cost with everyone in the community invited to participate. It's been our pleasure to work for more than 25 years to build a strong, vibrant Wake Forest community through our support of arts and cultural activities.
