Walk for KHAIR 2017
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Aug 07, 2017
In celebration of KHAIR’s 10th Anniversary, the Community Health Network of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. (CHNCT Foundation) will be holding its 4th Annual Walk for KHAIR this summer. This year's Walk for KHAIR will be a 50-day virtual walk and will take place between June 19 – August 7. Participants will login via Crowdrise, and record their steps from their fitness tracking device, as they imagine themselves walking through the streets of 10 breathtaking countries in Europe.
KHAIR (pronounced “care”) serves at-risk youth by offering one-on-one mentoring relationships and a range of workshops designed to teach important life skills and bolster self-confidence. Participants, who are referred by behavioral health professionals, are asked to commit to six life skills workshops designed to nurture confidence and build healthy relationships.
The name KHAIR (Kids, Healthy, Attitude, Inspire, Reflect) comes from what we believe:
Kids are Healthy and successful when they have a positive Attitude and are Inspired to Reflect on their unique qualities. We are aware that philanthropic giving and government support for nonprofits are at an all-time low; this is why we turn to you to help fund this important educational outreach program.
The net proceeds will benefit the KHAIR program in a myriad of ways:
•Equipping our youth with tools and supplies
•Covering transportation fees for participants
•Providing our youth a safe and interactive environment to learn
