Walla Walla International School
Organized by: Walla Walla International School
Because there aren't any good schools on Bangka Island, kids don't have the opportunity to go to college. Therefore Bangka natives are essentially forced into low-paying menial jobs in tin mines while the better jobs are reserved for immigrants.
Walla Walla International School is being founded by a group of students and teachers at Walla Walla University. We are going to start Bangka Island's first "National Plus" school which will help families provide their kids with a solid education while spreading Christianity.
Money raised will be used to help pay for flights, visas, and other expenses to send my husband and I to Bangka, and to help get the school off the ground.
