I am running, climbing, crawling, and getting muddy in the 2011 Warrior Dash in the Rockies on August 21, 2011. I am a member of the 1st annual Team Warriors for Kids, raising money for the non-profit Resilience Rising.
A warrior is defined as 'a person engaged in or devoted to war.' I am a warrior devoted to the war against child prostitution in America. A warrior is also defined as 'a person who shows great vigor or courage.' Survivors of child prostitution are warriors, resilient and courageous in their battle against overwhelming adversity. Resilience Rising provides these young warriors with opportunities for safety, healing, and empowerment, so that they may rise to their potential and thrive.
