I am a licensed wildlife rehabber and operate a federally licensed private refuge, Wild Trax Feline Refuge, for small species of wild felines like servals, bobcats, lynx, in Arkansas, US. I get a variety of native wildlife in that are orphaned or injured, get them healthy, and release them back to the wild. Most of the wildcats in my care were captive born and have ended up here for a variety of reasons. These cannot be released, they must be cared for the rest of their lives which is what I do. I get all kinds of misc exotic animals in that people don't want anymore too. Since this sanctuary is private, my family and I support it financially ourselves, so we only take in what we can properly care for ourselves. My motto is "Quality, not Quantity" so each animal has the best life possible.
Here is the part I need your help with! I am also the project director of Touch The Jungle, a nonprofit rain forest and wildlife conservation project located in Ecuador, South America since 1995. The project is sponsored by the US nonprofit Earthways Foundation. My project supports the Playa de Oro Reserva de Tigrillos by helping the community run a low impact ecotourism project in order to protect their 25,000 acres of virgin rainforest in the coastal area of Ecuador known as the Choco. Touch The Jungle also operates a wildlife rescue facility located in the Intag cloud forest area of Ecuador. Most of the wildlife that comes to our facility are rare and endangered, and we get them healthy and release them back to the wild into protected areas where they may continue to contribute to their species survival. Touch The jungle also works closely with the local communities in these areas to help them protect their forests and environment and stand against logging and mining.
