Like Mindy Kaling, I really am just an "avid slow jogger who covers small amounts of distances over long periods of time." I've done my share of "races" for no other reason but to taunt my aging/aching knees.
BUT THIS IS DIFFERENT: I'm running 15K to help raise funds for an organization I really care about. (click on link for more info). If you help me raise $500, I'll throw in a life-changing rendition of Gangnam Style after I cross the finish line.
INTERFAITH WORKER JUSTICE WROTE -
Team Worker Justice Runners Needs YOU!
We've walked alongside each other on many rallies, marches and picket lines. On Sunday, November 4, we invite you to join Interfaith Worker Justice Executive Director Kim Bobo and other IWJ staff members and friends as we work to make our way to the Chicago Hot Chocolate Run finish line.
We'd love to have you on our team. Here's how:
2. Join Team Worker Justice Runners on Crowdrise. (Click on "Join Team" below)
This is a good opportunity to spend some time outdoors with family and friends - before the bitter Winter hits us. It's also a unique way of helping raise funds in support of Interfaith Worker Justice (IWJ). With your help, we can continue to educate, organize and engage people of faith on issues that impact workers, especially those in low-wage jobs.
For additional information about Interfaith Worker Justice, please visit our website.
All Worker Justice Runners will receive an IWJ t-shirt and water bottle!
