Angela’s House was founded 25 years ago to help medically fragile children and their families receive critical services and supports to ensure a better quality of life for all. Angela’s House was founded after Bob and Angie Policastro’s own experience of having a medically fragile daughter, Angela, who experienced complications during birth.
In need of help to care for their daughter, the couple quickly realized the need for more resources to help to tackle this issue. At the time there were no such services available to families on Long Island, requiring Angela to live in a hospital in Connecticut. This dilemma affected hundreds of other families and children in the Long Island community. Though Angela has since passed, her legacy lives on. Angela’s House currently helps over 650 children in the community who live with their families. They also have three state-of-the-art homes with 24-hour nursing care, the newest of which provides care for ventilator dependent children.
Join us as we help Angela’s House on their mission to provide support and local resources to medically frail children and their families.
