A Child's Fire.
Organized by: Richard Harkins
Below are the words of the mother of an amazing kid that means the world to me. If I could help them with everything the need, I would. However with my last day at my job being the end of this month, I can't afford to pay for everything they need. I hate asking for help, but it breaks my heart to see this little boy go through this and feel so lost. He's 10 years old and lost everything he has. Thank you for taking your time and reading this. These are the words she sent me, "Sunday night our home caught fire. It was due to electrical issues. Now that our home is burnt we not only have to continue paying for mortgage, but they have taken all our clothes, all our belongings except 3 days worth, and one pair of shoes. None of our everyday bathroom toiletries, nothing, was able to be saved. Also, they said all of our medicines are gone. Sadly insurance said they don't cover medicine.. my son has asthma and other health issues so is on a lot of meds. We have the doctor admitting prescriptions to refill it all but sadly can't afford to pay all the co-pays to pick it all up. All of our food was thrown out from damages as well. Lucky nobody was hurt in the fire. I myself was in the ER that night with carbon monoxide poisoning, but other than that we are both well which I am thankful for.. I have a friend who was kind enough to welcome us into her home for as long as we need and it's been a blessing . Other than that I'm just going day by day praying and trying to keep my son on his regular schedule as much as we can.. he has been worried about getting in trouble at school bc he doesn't have enough uniforms etc for school. They left him one uniform for school. Again, prayers would be appreciated very much and thank you."
