A Daughter's Help for her Mother
Organized by: Makeba Gregory
I'm a single mom currently living with my mother. Our lives have had it's ups and downs but this year is when my mother needs help the most. Here's her story. My mother's name is Deloris. She's a retired kindergarten teacher and grandmother of four boys and one girl. She has one son and two daughters and she is the living example of a person who lived paycheck to paycheck. My mom and I live a mobile home that she purchased many years ago and last year, she was searching around for an affordable/decent place to own. However, my mother is still living paycheck to paycheck and she cannot afford the down payment for a decent place. You see, I love my mother. She has always supported my dreams and always wanted me to succeed but unfortunately, I had to discontinue my college education to help my mother with bills and other expenses. I've tried to find ways to help her out but to no prevailed, I haven't found any other options. Currently, my mother's house consists of five occupants, including me and my daughter. Space is very limited because the house needs repairs badly but this is something she simply just cannot afford. I could of went out into the world and provided a place for just my daughter and I but my heart will not let me. All I want for my mother to live in a decent place because anyone out there who loves their mother just as much as I do, would do the same too. I want to start a nonprofit organization one day in honor of my mother. I want to help everyone who's in need of a decent place because life can be tough and loving mothers (and fathers) like mines deserve to live comfortably.
