The stress has increased in our family. Because of the pain my dear grandmother is going through she has decided to use Washington State's right See More

THE STORY:

Hi, my name is Kyra. I'm a 21 year old student. I also work full time. My family is having quite a crisis recently. My dad due to his condition ( type 1 diabetes with complications diabetic neuropathy and heart condition problems) has not been able to work for the past 2 years because he has trouble getting around and can only stand or walk for short periods of time because of the constant and worsening pain of the diabetic neuropathy. He is a single parent and cares for my two younger twin brothers with special needs ( developmental delay and ADHD). They are currently living in a low income housing transitional program. Their time in the program has come to an end. My dad has put in hundreds upon hundreds of housing applications throughout several counties and never received any responses. They cannot afford fair market housing. He has two evictions in his recent past because of a lengthy Hospital stay and the other because of a dishonest roommate. They will no longer have a place to live soon. I don't want to see my Dad's health deteriorate or my little brothers become completely distressed or overwhelmed because they have to live on the street. On top of this particular stressful situation we just recently found out my grandma's dying of stage 4 esophageal cancer. My hopes in putting this out there is to be able to give my dad and my little brother's a chance to find somewhere to live. I know that there are still good people out there. People who care and have the capability to help a family in need.
