Our story is probably not much different than most who suffer from cancer, although were new to this world. Our 46 year old son-in law was diagnosed with brain cancer, melanoma, to be exact. My wife tries to comfort our daughter that, this is not a death sentence, and that there are survivors but her life has been changed dramatically, and her 7 year old daughter's life too. Jim is also a son, brother, and uncle, and has always been so active, an avid snowboarder, car mechanic, motorcyclist, carpenter, with a love for life, one who has always worked hard for everything he has , and for his family. Jim was working right up until the headaches and disorientation showed the doctor through a scan he had tumors on his brain that were bleeding. Jim has now had brain surgery to remove the two tumors now within four weeks of being diagnosed with cancer, and has had to go back again for an additional tumor behind his eye that was bleeding causing additional headaches. Jim received radiation treatment to stop the bleeding from the third tumor behind his left eye. Jim has now also been diagnosed with three nodules on his lungs in addition to the three brain tumors. The bills haven't even begun, and our hope, and prayers are that he will be healed from this cancer. The amount were asking for is based on what we have been told will cost to treat the cancer, and take care of him and his family financially while Jim is not working. Jim doesn't want to accept money from others as he feels he should work to pay for everything he has, however the cost of treatments, and surgeries will add to the stress of having cancer along with losing the quality of life for his family, and they are losing their main bread winner. Since Jim didn't want to ask others for money, we as his in-laws felt that there was no shame in asking. That's what America has always been about, helping others who truly need it, and we sincerely appreciate it, even 10.00 can get us to our goal. We pray that others would give for our own selfish reasons so Jim can watch his daughter grow, and graduate high school, attend college, and someday be married. So that our daughter will keep the love of her life, and so a their daughter, can grow up, and grow old with a father and so that we as a family can spend many more family gatherings together as a whole family. Our hope is that others will give so that we can as people help each other Thank You either way if you decide to give or not, and we thank you for taking the time to read our story and hear our plea, and God bless you, and yours, and may peace be with you, and God bless America...
