A Hand Up for Barbara
Organized by: Carol Bunyard
My friend, Barbara, is a good person. She has worked for most of her life, has paid taxes, has participated in charity events, has assisted the mentally ill, has been a pillar of strength fir her family. Now she needs help! First, she was laid off from her job. Then, she suffered a serious fracture of her arm (which has still not healed properly, but she can't afford additional treatment) and she suffered a brain aneurysm that has left her permanently disabled. The state refuses to grant her disability status. Because of her severely reduced income, she lost her home. She has been ill, and can't afford the medication to get her over the infection. Recently, she was in a car wreck that totaled her car. Now, she has no transportation. Today, Barbara walked six miles to get some medication, and the pharmacy called an ambulance--she went to the ER with heat exhaustion. She still doesn't have the medication she went to get. Barbara is embarrassed and ashamed to be in this situation and would NEVER ask for money herself. She's a bit humiliated that I'm doing so. Barbara has helped people her whole life. Please, will you join with me in helping her?
