BENEFITING: CENTER FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY INC
The health of the earth can be measured by the diversity of life it is able to support. A species in danger is an indication that we have an important environmental problem that we owe to future generations to address.
Republicans in Congress are now threatening to gut -- or repeal altogether -- the Endangered Species Act. They want to mask the environmental problems we are confronting by making them harder to measure.
These are the primary proponents of gutting the ESA in Congress:
Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT, 1st District) [wants to repeal the Endangered Species Act altogether]
Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.)
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.)
In response to their attempts to gut the Endangered Species Act, we will match them in resistance by making a collective donation to the Center for Biological Diversity in their names. The Center for Biological Diversity will convey notice of our donation to the above Congressmen (your identity will not be disclosed) along with the following message:
"We are making a donation to the Center for Biological Diversity in your name, because we know that any species in peril is an indication that we have an environmental problem that we owe it to future generations to address. We want the Endangered Species Act left intact, and we oppose your attempts to gut it to appease corporate interests."
*Please note in the comments if you are a constituent of Wyoming, Oklahoma or Utah's 1st Congressional District so we can include a tally of how many of their constituents donated in the "A donation has been made in your honor" letter.
*You have the option to make your contribution anonymously, and I recommend doing so.
