A Home For Lilyan
Organized by: Claudine Paul
Lilyan is an adorable, VERY energetic eight year old girl that is very dear to the hearts that love her. She has boundless curiosity and is sometimes too smart for her own good. Lilyan is being raised by a single mother whom has found herself in a very difficult living situation. Lilyan and her mother are homeless. As adults, we're so much better equipped to understand and react to unforeseen circumstances than the small, innocent minds of our children. Lilyan was diagnosed with ADHD several years ago and although her condition is manageable under normal circumstances, her current living situation has become an increasingly more difficult challenge. Her mother works long hours to support them, leaving her daughter to entertain herself while at work with her mom. They have recently been evicted due to financial hardship and are now splitting their living quarters between a tent at a campground and a small room at the dog kennel where her mom works. For a child with ADHD, the boredom comes quickly as does the frustration and heartbreak for the parent that can't give her daughter what she needs. I have created this fundraiser to help Lilyan's mom (whose name I have omitted at her request due to pride) provide a small platform from which to start a stable future for her small family. The funds raised will go towards finding a home and all of the financial burdens attached. It will help with Lilyan's medication, clothing and her favorite thing of all, food. And it will go towards the most valuable and intangible thing for her mom... Peace of mind that she can provide for her daughter. My truest and heartfelt thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and generosity in helping this cause.
