GOOD SHEPHERD GRACENTER wrote -
Good Shepherd Gracenter is a local San Francisco Charity, and we need your help to continue changing the lives of women.
Our goal is to raise $55,000 in revenue this year with our annual fundraiser, A Taste of Autumn. This year’s theme is “The House That Became a Home” to reflect the safety, security, and love that residents find at Gracenter. Having a stable home plays a major role in recovery, providing an opportunity for healing, learning and connection.
We are delighted to invite you to attend our Fundraiser Lunch, " A Taste of Autumn" which will be held on:
Sunday, September 25, 2016
from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM
at Patio Español in San Francisco.
(Tickets can be purchased through our website .)
This is a family friendly lunch that includes a Silent Auction, a Raffle, games, and an awards presentation to honor the remarkeable individuals in the public health and recovery field. Following the event we invite the attendees for an Open House at Gracenter.
Many of our women were formerly homeless and now have a new chance at life thanks to the generosity and care of people like you! In our 4th year of hosting this fundraiser, we hope to make an online impact by raising $4000 through CrowdRise. We ask for your support so that we can continue making a difference in the lives of women, helping them reconnect with their families, develop important life skills, give back to the community, gain education and employment, and live a dignified life.
- Our women are actively involved in the community. In 2014, 87% gave back as volunteers. Also, many become mentors to others in recovery!
- 100% of women who entered our program in 2014 were previously homeless and 50% were involved in the criminal justice system. All residents who complete our program move into stable housing and 97% stay out of the criminal justice system 1 year after leaving Gracenter, saving tax payer dollars.
- We practice restorative justice, meaning our women take accountability, repair harm through apology and restitution, pay back debts, restore family relationships, and choose a life of positive acts and service.
With adequate support, women in recovery can overcome homelessness, gain further education, secure employment and give back to their families and community. Strong women strengthen families and strong healthy families make a safe community for all of us!
Help us break the cycle of debilitating drug and alcohol addiction and give women without resources a chance to lead healthy and productive lives!
