BENEFITING: Ataxia Telangiectasia Children's Project, Inc.
The A-T CureTeam runs for kids who can't and provides research funds to provide life-improving therapies and a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia, or A-T for short. Imagine this disease that has the symptoms of cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis, immune system deficiencies, and a strikingly high rate of cancer.
A-T is a rare, genetic disease that strikes children, causing progressive loss of muscle control. Those kids who could once run, walk, read and write lose these abilities little by little with most kids in wheelchairs by age 10 and often not surviving their late teens.
