THE STORY:

I am going to Guatemala in February 2018 with 12 of my classmates from Northwestern University to the city of Zacapa to work in a local prosthetics clinic. We will be working for 5 straight days helping the people of Guatemala who have undergone an amputation and need assistance with their rehabilitation process. This country lacks in the number of practitioners who are able to provide such care for these individuals. Our participation in this project allows us to make a great impact. Our team will be doing everything from an initial assessment to providing them a prosthetic leg to walk on by the end of the week. This project will allow these individuals to get back to a more normal life that they had before their amputation. Your donation would go towards purchasing the materials and components necessary to make these prostheses. Your donation would also help pay for me to eat and sleep in a safe and clean environment. Thank you so much for your consideration and contribution to this project.
