BENEFITING: GLEASONS GIVE A KID A DREAM
EVENT DATE: Nov 28, 2015
You will lose and lose, don't stop. One day you will win. (Gregory Siff)
Never Say Die!
Born and raised in Brooklyn Aaron grew up watching Mike Tyson fights and in awe of his talent in the ring.
Aaron is taking this challenge for the perfect reason:
“I feel that I’m now in the best shape of my life and ready to fulfill a personal goal to compete in a boxing match. The fact that I’ll be helping a couple of charities too makes it even better!”
No stranger to fiscal challenges Aaron ran the tough mudder half marathon obstacle course race event April 29th, 2012.
“I basically got to a point to where my body was so exhausted that I physically could not do anymore more obstacles. That was the first time I pushed past all the negative thoughts, the exhaustion and fatigue my body could handle. I wound up slowly running the whole course and I gave it more than I ever thought I had in me. “
Why he can relate to our Give A Kid A Dream Participants?
Having lost his father when he was 18 months old, Aaron grew up in a single parent home. As he got older he had problems inside and outside (being bullied) the home which affected my grades in school. He went from being an above average student, to bottom of the barrel flunking all my classes in junior high and high school. There were times when he couldn't see a light at the end of the dark tunnel of his life and almost wanted to quit a few times back then.
“I wish I would have had something like "Give A Kid A Dream program to get me out of the bad situation I was in as a kid and put me into something more positive”
Accomplishments in life:
“Never giving up and staying alive is first and foremost. The second is going back to school to learn audio engineering at the Institute of Audio Research (IAR). I wound up graduating top of my class learning skills that allows me to work with passion for music.”
