Ainsley's Angels of America is super excited to have Ambassador Monica spreading our mission and bringing inclusive road racing to Southeast Louisiana!
What does this mean? Well, enjoy this video!
Learn about the life event that inspired Angel Ambassador Monica to make this a reality:
“I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say ‘because of you I didn’t give up.’”
At the age of fourteen, I made a promise to fulfill my dream of becoming an orthopedic specialized physical therapist; however, God had a much different plan which has led me to Ainsley’s Angels of America. After graduating from the University of St. Augustine Health and Sciences in 2013, I joined Moreau Physical Therapy to start up the pediatric physical therapy department in Opelousas, La. The job had nothing appealing to offer me- no mentor, an hour long drive, a pediatric setting, and starting from scratch with no case load- yet for some reason, something in my head kept telling me to take it. Since accepting that job offer, I have never woken up and regretted that decision!
On January 17, 2015, while working the expo at the Louisiana Marathon with my company, I saw a young boy in a pink and black shirt who grabbed my attention immediately. I asked my co-workers what organization he was with then wondered around to find him even though I was told he would return with fliers for us. Within five minutes, I knew this little boy Shamus truly was an angel from God leading me to an organization I have dreamed of being a part of. As an avid runner/triathlete, I have always wanted to incorporate my passion for health and wellness with helping others, specifically those with illness or disability. After speaking with Rooster, the president of Ainsley’s Angels, for approximately 20 minutes that day, I knew it was the perfect fit for me!
