All five species of rhinos are disappearing! Join the staff of Zoo New England in raising money to help prevent their extinction. Bowling for Rhinos is a nation-wide fundraiser run by volunteers from the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK). To date AAZK has raised more than six million dollars through annual bowling events. Last year our chapter alone raised $4,500. Let's try to hit $5,000 this year! (My personal goal being $500.)
The event happens to be open to all, not just AAZK members. Message me if you're interested in participating!
From the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) 2015 Year End Report:
"IRF deeply appreciates all that our Zoo Partners do to enable their support for rhino conservation. Funding from zoos represented almost one third of IRF revenue in 2015. Zoo Partners support the IRF through a variety of events and activities, including Quarters for Conservation, conservation grants, and other fundraisers. Many American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) chapters organize annual Bowling for Rhinos events, while the International Rhino Keeper Association (IRKA) publishes a calendar and donates the proceeds to conservation.”
The International Rhino Foundation is only 1 of the amazing organizations Bowling For Rhinos supports.
