BENEFITING: SAINT JOSEPHS ABBEY
EVENT DATE: Mar 21, 2015
Imagine this: a monastery in the middle of nowhere in Louisiana that makes coffins. Okay what's a monastery? Well, according to Webster's dictionary it is "a house or place of residence occupied by a community of...monks, living in seclusion under religious vows." Yup, that's who we are, Saint Joseph Abbey + Seminary College, a 125 year old Catholic Benedictine monastery and a four-year liberal arts college. Pretty cool in this modern day in time. So on our property every year we throw an amazing party for highschool students and its called Abbey Youth Festival! We have music, speakers, vendors, and of course, pizza, a staple food for every teen worldwide. We are Catholic so our day is about being Catholic, learning about what it means to be a young Catholic and learning to dance the whole time! It's cool and it's run by the most handsome seminarians in the whole wide world! Imagine 5,000 people singing and dancing while out standing in a field. Get it? Outstanding in a field! We crack ourselves up. Oh and the coffins. Well, that's anothe story...
