No Chemo Today

Eric's red blood count was too low today for the chemo. He needs a blood transfusion tomorrow. We will pray it works swiftly so he can complete See More

THE STORY:

This is Eric, my cousin, with his beautiful little girls and lovely wife, Stephanie. Eric is only 32 and was recently diagnosed with a rare form of testicular cancer called embryonal carcinoma. He had surgery on June 10th to remove one testes but the cancer has spread to his lymph nodes. He is now on aggressive chemotherapy and may need additional surgery to remove the cancerous nodes. Eric has not been allowed to work for almost a month and is uncertain how long he will be out on medical leave. Eric should be worrying about his health but when you ask how he's doing he only talks his girls and needing to provide for them. His wife works full time but the loss of his income and mounting medical bills are making it difficult to keep up. This is a really scary time for such a young family. Eric is a kind and gentle man who was born to be a father. While some men fear parenthood, Eric has always looked forward to being a dad. He makes everyday a special day for his girls (Abby and Jo) whether they're having a daddy and daughter movie night or just playing with the dog in the backyard. Eric is really just a great guy. He's always got a smile on his face and a lighthearted chuckle in his voice. He's a terrific husband, friend, coworker, and teammate. He's a fan of the Gators, Rangers, Green Bay Packers, and has played hockey himself since he was just a boy. It's crazy how someone so young and healthy has cancer. Eric, Stephanie, Abby, and little Jo need our help. If you know this family and have been wondering what you can do, please make a donation to help them through this difficult time. If you don't know them personally, odds are you have known someone with cancer in the past and you know what a toll it takes physically, emotionally, and financially on a family. Please consider helping provide for Abby and Jo, while Eric is fighting his cancer. Your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes are also appreciated. Let's help Eric kick cancers butt!
