BENEFITING: SPURWINK SERVICES
Am I really doing a 10k walk? YES. I know, I can't believe it either. As you may know, I am the Director of Annual Giving & Special Events for Spurwink Services, an amazing agency that serves over 6,500 children, adults and families affected by behavioral health challenges and developmental disabilities and helping them live healthy, engaged lives in their communities.
Among our many programs and services are residential and day treatment programs for those affected by autism. So in honor of Autism Awareness Month - and because I love my job - I am going to raise money for this walk. Although I've done a million events and fundraisiers, I've never done one for myself! Every donation helps, even $1.
I was going to do rewards for donating, like on Kickstarter, but I realized all I have to give is celebrity gossip and I can make you a stir fry. So you get my thanks and the knowledge that you're truly making a difference in so many lives, plus I'll provide amusing updates during the walk. Plus you're also sponsoring Maisie, who will accompany me!
Oh - and I get a TARDIS medal at the end of it, but that's just the bonus.
