Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan provides emergency food to thousands of children, seniors, individuals and families every month in southeast Michigan, through our partner network of more than 550 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools and other nonprofit organizations. We provide more than 46 million pounds of food annually to people living in the five counties of Wayne, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland and Livingston.
With one in five Michigan households needing emergency food at some point during the year, and one in four Michigan children living in poverty, Gleaners' mission is as vital as ever. For every dollar donated, Gleaners provides three meals to a hungry child, senior, man or woman. Ninety-three cents of every dollar is used to fund programs.
