BENEFITING: National Fragile X Foundation
EVENT DATE: Apr 26, 2014
Abraham James Zeleznik was born on January 6th, 2005. Bj and Amy noted differences in Abe’s development very quickly and began searching for answers. After 19 months of specialist's visits, therapy appointments and dead ends, Abe was diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X Syndrome (FX) is the #1 known genetic cause of Autism. FX affects everything about Abraham- gross motor, fine motor, speech and language, cognition, connective tissue, and sensory processing. Ongoing pharmaceutical studies have made enormous strides in counteracting the chemical changes caused by FX at the biological/brain level! We are committed and determined to helping Abraham, and all others whose lives are affected by FX, enjoy life to the fullest. Educational and therapeutic interventions, community awareness and understanding, pharmaceutical advances towards a cure- together, we are moving FORWARD!
Join Abe's Army and help raise awareness and funds for research for Fragile X! Sign up for one of the events in the Christie Clinic Marathon Series on April 26 (5k, 10k, half or full marathon) in Champaign!
