If we reach our goal of raising $10,000 by August 28th, The Children's Center has a chance to WIN up to $10,000 more as part of the “FirstMerit Community Challenge!”
Help us empower families to shape their own futures by bringing the “Arts, Beats & Eats” theme to our children in a special way.
ARTS: Trained clinicians use art therapy as a tool for children to express their emotions, cope with traumatic experiences, address feelings of grief or loss, and enhance their cognitive abilities.
BEATS: Through music, therapists can assess the emotional well-being, social functioning and communication abilities a child. Our annual summer camp allows children to experience music therapy through song writing, singing, cultural dance, listening to music and playing instruments.
EATS: To help meet the basic needs of a child, The Children’s Center offers a boutique and food pantry to consumers receiving mental health services. Families can shop free of charge for non-perishable food and gently used clothing twice per month.
The Children’s Center of Wayne County is proud to be a charity partner for the 2013 Arts, Beats & Eats festival. As one of the most diverse and comprehensive child-serving agencies in Michigan, the center addresses the needs of nearly 7,500 children and families annually. Our 24 interrelated programs support some of the most troubled children struggling with mental, emotional or behavioral challenges.
