"Life is not easy”, says 20-year-old Binh*, with a wide smile. His father died many years ago. Soon after that, his mother remarried and he was abandoned. A tragic and hard-to-believe story for us but a not uncommon thing in terribly poor, rural Vietnam.
Fortunately, Binh and his three siblings found a place to live. All together in a very small room of their ancestor's house in Hue, they lived together and supported each other. Binh finished high school and started working at menial jobs just to buy some simple food for his younger brother and sister with the $45/month that he was able to make. Now Binh smiles when talking about it and says: “If you just give it a try, and work hard, everything will be fine."
This attitude brought the boy to STREETS. Now Binh is in Class 9, on a way to his own success story. For the first time in his life, he has his own bed in a comfortable, safe and supervised house, three healthy meals a day and decent clothes. If you want to make sure this story turns out fine for this hard working young man, please donate to the STREETS International program. Every little bit helps -- provide three fresh, daily nutrition meals and clean water for $35/month, and the safe housing for $50/month. The full, life-changing cost to support Binh is $1800. If we can raise it, it will cover all the expenses of his entire 18-month program at STREETS.
