Hi everyone, just a quick update.  We have raised 760.00 to date this is about 10% of our goal.  We intend to use part of the initial funds See More

THE STORY:

ADA B. SIMPSON, Future Now, Inc. purpose is driven by AB’s love for the advancement of children and the opportunity to positively impact Liberia's future generations by equipping them with education and an array of skills to prepare them for future success. ABS Memorial School has been operational for over three years. We have realized that we have to be able to sustain ourselves when funding is no longer available to us. We are therefore embarking on project entitled: "Industrialization and construction of A Student Industrial Center at the Ada B. Simpson Memorial School in Tombey Chiefdom Bomie District Robertsport Highway Grand Cape Mount" . This intervention is a result of an urgent need to empower and train Liberian students with technical and industrial skills while they are pursuing formal education, as well as to provide a means to provide nutrition to students during the school day. We are seeking sponsorship for Phases 1 and 2 of our project. Phase 1 - Develop, plant and farm produce on 5 acres of land in Bomi Township. We will grow cassava, corn, watermelon, onions, beans, garlic, potatoes, okra, cabbage, collard greens, oranges, pumpkin, etc. We will then use produce to feed children and parents in the village, and we will sell produce to other villages. All proceeds will be put back in the school to maintain the computer lab and library, and structure of school. We will need to purchase tools, cutlasses, hoes, shovels, water buckets, seeds, containers (pots), and hire cultivators to work with a select group of students and parents. Phase 2 of our project is to provide teachers and students with vocational and industrial training skills. Skills include tailoring, computer training, soap making, tie dying and pastry making. We anticipate that these trainings will enhance the capacity of young people to become self-sufficient and contribute to the economy of their county and the country at large. Funds will be used to purchase materials and equipment, i.e. sewing machines and t-shirts, dye, soap, etc. We will also use funds to pay computer specialist for training sessions. We will provide you with monthly progress reports to show you how your funds have been spend. We thank you for considering this project
