BENEFITING: ALAMEDA CIVIC BALLET
EVENT DATE: Apr 29, 2011
ACB is proud to present United We Dance, a multi-ethnic dance showcase with a special Performance for Schools to expose our community's youth to the beauty and diversity of ethnic dance. The show will be performed on Friday April 29, 2011 at Kofman Theater in Alameda, CA. To date, we have confirmed reservations from over 1,100 students from 8 Alameda schools.
Our goal is to expose students to different dances from around the world at an affordable price as many students are coming from Title I schools. Therefore we've set the price for the student performance at just $3/ticket. Ticket revenues will not cover our costs, so WE ARE ASKING THE HELP AND SUPPORT OF OUR COMMUNITY TO UNDERWRITE THIS WONDERFUL PRODUCTION.
United We Dance will be a celebration of ethnic dances featuring dance companies from around the SF Bay Area and will showcase the richness and diversity of cultures and dances from around the world. Many of the featured dance companies have performed in the prestigious San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival. United We Dance will have performers representing dances from China, Bolivia, Hawaii, North America, Cambodia, Philippines Middle East and India. Dancers from Alameda Civic Ballet will perform exerpts from a ballet called Le Bon Temps, choreographed by our Artistic Director Abra Rudisill.
A public performance of United We Dance will be presented on Saturday, April 30 at 7pm -- a unique opportunity to see sensational dancing in Alameda! To purchase tickets to the Saturday evening show, go to www.brownpapertickets.com/event/162419
