Brexit, the Colombian referendum, Trump. The world is changing - fast - and now more than ever it is critical that people are able to hold to account those in power, know their rights and responsibilities and can hold people in power accountable. In many places, this is a life and death issue, and a lack of accountability is at the root of devastating poverty, inequality, and instability.
At the Accountability Lab, we are building a positive movement for accountability in communities, from the bottom-up. With our hands-on training, resources, and networks, our accountability entrepreneurs have created dozens of accountability tools, from interactive civic education programs in schools to watchdog news outlets to film schools. Our work has reached millions of people - building trust and cooperation between citizens and their governments, and catalyzing a new generation of active citizens and responsible leaders.
But there is much, much more to do. We depend on the generosity of individuals like you to make this work possible. Here is how your donation can make an impact:
- $1,000 can pay for a staff member to build accountability for a month
- $500 allows us to help an "accountapreneur" share their story through film
- $250 can pay rent for our country office for a month
- $100 can provide mentoring for a local changemaker for a month
- $50 can support an Accountability Incubator training session for a day
Join us now - we need your help. During this season of giving, please donate what you can to help local change-makers build more accountable, just and inclusive communities. We must all come together to make sure this is a world in which we want to live - led by a new generation with creative, positive ideas for change.
