BENEFITING: Somaly Mam Foundation
EVENT DATE: Feb 17, 2012
Family and Friends,
Let me start off by wishing you all a Happy New Year! I hope that 2012 has brought you much joy, love and clarity thus far. If not, know that it's coming just keep that heart open for it :)
I was on Amazon.com looking for a new book last year, more specifically searching for stories on Cambodia. I came across Somaly’s book: The Road of Lost Innocence. Immediately intrigued by her story; I started researching her work.
Please take a moment and see for yourself: http://www.somaly.org/about-smf/somaly-mam
Somaly's amazing story of survival has grown to be a great story of life. She took her experiences and is now leading an amazing non-profit that works towards ending such an inhumane form of slavery. She works toward raising funds to support, protect, and rehabilitate victims...in so many ways she is my hero.
I would like to take the opportunity of my birthday and solicit my friends and families to donate to this cause. I am trying to raise $700 before I turn 29. Give what you can in celebration of a chance at life :)
