I've signed up to participate with some friends of mine in a charity soccer tournament on May 20th sponsored by the Soccer In The Streets organization (www.sits.org/). SITS is an Atlanta-based charity that links life skills with soccer skills and helps at-risk kids thrive at school and at home through out-of-school programs, mentoring relationships, academic support and hands on experience. The SITS programs develop the next generation of community leaders who will eventually “own and operate” the program, provide vital infrastructure and sustain partnerships. Currently, it provides after school programs to over 1,500 underpriviledged kids in metro Atlanta. This particular tournament will focus on developing the Decatur/Clarkston area elementary school programs.
Our team has been tasked with helping achieve the tournament goal of raising $25,000 towards the Decatur/Clarkston project, and we need your help. My personal goal is to raise $1,000 within the next 2 weeks. I'm hoping that you'll read this page and think "Man! Stark really needs my help, I'll donate now!". You all know how much I love soccer and I think this is a worthy cause, so please help this organization by making a donation. The amount of your donation doesn't matter. But, if you need a general baseline then take the number of years you've known me and multiple by $5 - haha.
If you're willing to donate then click the donate link on this page. The donation site, CrowdRise, is legit, and the donation process is very simple. Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive a receipt via email.
Finally, if you'd like to cheer our team during the tournament then it starts at 11AM on Sunday, May 20th in Little Five Points. Please call me for more details.
Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it!
