Help ACODEV provide 11 bicycles to community volunteers in Western Uganda so they can provide HIV/AIDS counseling and education in hard to reach areas!
Action for Community Development (ACODEV) is a Uganda-based non-governmental organization working to employ innovative solutions in the areas of human rights, HIV/AIDS, reproductive and child health, and systems strengthening in Eastern Africa.
We believe all human beings should be empowered to realize their full potential as productive, engaged citizens. We believe that it is communities who know best the problems they face and, as such, they are the best actors to solve such problems.
Our HIV/AIDS Program works with community volunteers in Western Uganda who act as counselors, educators, and mobilizers to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among their fellow community members.
These counselors work in some of the most remote areas in Western Uganda, serving communities in the hills of the Congo border and the mountains of Rwenzori. They also work with some of the highest-risk yet underserved populations, like sex workers, drivers, and fishing communities.
Help us provide these volunteers with bicycles to make it easier for them to do their work and reach a greater number of people. As simple as it sounds, a bicycle can make a world of difference to these volunteers and to the communities they serve.
