A Community of Friends requires additional funding in order to bring high quality supportive services to our tenants. We offer basic life skills classes, budgeting, gardening, parenting, substance abuse recovery and children & family programming on site and connect our tenants to other resources within their communities.
A Community of Friends has been in Southern California since 1988 with a mission to end homelessness by providing quality permanent supportive housing for people with mental illness. Securing funding for tenant services is always a challenge. Currently, over 2,000 people live in our buildings, including more than 650 children. While we receive some funding from government sources for such services, our programming funding is severely restricted and is not available at all of our buildings.
We know our services and housing model works and we want to offer the right programming in all of our communities. We would appreciate your support.
A $10 gift could buy a week's art supplies for a children's program;
A $25 gift could provide 5 Recovery Journals for someone who wants to remain clean and sober;
$100 could provide 4 hours of supportive services; and
$250 could pay for an entire holiday gathering for tenants in one building
Your support today increases the chances that our tenants will remain stable in housing and not end up back on the streets.
