Welcome to our Team - rarE Joules of Volz!
Hate Cancer? So do we! That is why we are doing something about it - but not just anything, we are running many miles in an effort to raise money to help eradicate cancer!
Our passion is fueled by a story that is unfortunately all too similar to others - losing someone very near and dear to our hearts. In 2012 we had devoted ourselves to be cancer crushers! This is our second annual race in memory of Edward Volz -EJV- a husband, father, grandfather, and overall amazing man! Last May we raised an astonishing $1000 as a team. This year we are looking to match that goal, and we are all putting in even more miles to do so.
57.9 angry, hurt, cancer-crushing miles to be exact!! Barb and April will be taking on the 5k (3.1 miles) for the second year in a row with Angela, Robert, Katie and Tom joining them this year! Matthew has stepped up to the challenge and instead of the 5k will be tackling the half marathon (13.1 miles). Last year Annette ran her first half marathon, and this year has decided to show how passionate she is about crushing cancer by running the full marathon (26.2 miles).
Together we want to save the lives of others. Every step we take and every mile we conquer will save lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer. We’ve all been touched by cancer; make this the year you joing us in fighting back!
