The earthquake that struck Kathmandu on Saturday, April 25th has claimed more than 4,000 lives and left many more people injured.
Families are still searching for their relatives who remain buried under the rubble and healthcare facilities are overwhelmed.
ActionAid has been working in Nepal for over 30 years. Currently, we are providing emergency relief, and supporting hospitals and other health facilities by providing medical supplies and helping those injured get access to much-needed care.
With aftershocks - including a massive second earthquake - causing further chaos and confusion, people are frightened and in need of your support. The majority of people affected by the quake are sleeping out in the open, in temperatures as low as 37 degrees, for fear that their homes may collapse in continued shocks. With heavy rain forecast for the next few days, we need to get them shelter, fast. These people urgently need help obtaining life-saving supplies such as food, water, and shelter.
