BENEFITING: SURVIVORS OF SUICIDE INC
ORGANIZER: Active Minds
EVENT DATE: Aug 17, 2014
Last year, I created the team HuCo Strong to fundraise for the Survivors of Suicide Walk for Hope. I raised over $1,000 last year to spread awareness about depression, suicide, and mental illnesses. This year, my goal is to raise even more money; however, I will be fundraising with the team "Active Minds at SVSU" this year, instead of my own team. I hope to continue educating the general public about mental illnesses to change the conversation about depression and suicide, as well as encourage those who are hurting to seek help.
Please help stomp out the stigmas attached to mental illnesses and spread awareness about depression and suicide by donating money to this fundraiser to benefit Survivors of Suicide, or by joining many others, and me, at the annual Walk for Hope on August 16, 2015. More information about the walk is below:
Registration is free; however, for every $100 in donations you raise, your name will be entered in a drawing for major prizes if you choose to fundraise.
One of our major prizes is a 6 person, 8 hour salmon charter fishing trip!
This family friendly event will feature guest speakers, live music by Sonic Freeway, a DJ on the walk route, resource tables, activity tables, face painting, light food, and HOPE!
