actNOW Uplift Campaign
Organized by: we actNOW
actNOW's goal is to foster reassurance in the user’s ability to seek help, support, and most importantly, justice. Recent studies have shown that 1 in 5 college women would experience unwanted sexual contact, as well as 1 in 16 college men. Additionally, almost 40% of college students have little to no familiarity on how to report or get help after an incident of sexual assault.
Many online programs and current web applications are based on preventive measures and campus safety. But is there a tool that delivers a survivor-centered remedy?
- Is there a SAFESpace to connect with other survivors and trained advocates to build up the confidence to report and feel believed?
- Can there be a guidance tool that helps a survivor journal the details of the incident and when ready, opt-in to report to campus officials?
- Should there be a way to interactively locate local support groups or events, nearby hospitals or self- defense classes?
The answer is YES; pledge to actNOW! Help empower survivors, college students and institutions to be enabled with an innovative movement at the palm of their hand. Your support will help bring actNOW to life and university outreach efforts.
actFearlessly, actConfidently, and actNOW!
