BENEFITING: AMERICAN COLLEGE OF VETERINARY PATHOLOGISTS
EVENT DATE: Dec 05, 2016
Every year during the American College of Veterinary Pathologists' annual meeting, the college hosts its philanthropic Community Outreach Activity (CO-Act). The CO-Act exists to give back to communities in need within the hosting city. This year we will be giving back to the communities of New Orleans!
Since 2014, the college has partnered with Clean the World (CTW) which aligns with one of the college's missions of One Health. During the CO-Act event, ACVP members volunteer their time and come together to assemble hygiene kits. These kits consist of soap, shampoo, conditioners, lotions, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloths, and other hygiene related items, all supplied by CTW. Once the kits are assembled, they are sealed with a personal note and distributed to local programs in need of such items such as homeless shelters, womens shelters, or kids on the street.
The cost to build each kit is $3.75. Our goal is to raise $5000.00 which will support the generation of approximately 1300 kits while also covering shipping costs of supplies from CTW.
Please join us in our One Health mission. Whether an ACVP member or non-member, your contribution can help! A donation of just $10 will support the creation of 2 1/2 hygiene kits! Help us meet our goal of $5000.00 and help keep the less fortunate communities of New Orleans healthier with the provision of something as simple as a bar of soap.
Thank you so much in advance for your kindenss, generosity, and donation!
* Please note the American College of Veterinary Pathologists is a registred non-profit organization. All donations are tax deductible and all donors will be furnished with a reciept of donation.
