There are more than 60 million refugees or displaced people worldwide, and that number is growing by the day. Every day when I set out for a run, I leave my house and later return to it - a luxury these 60+ million people do not have.
This year, I've joined up with 300 Days of Run to rise to a simple physical challenge (running 300 days in the year) and to raise money to help those confronting very real challenges - living as a refugee or recovering after a major disaster, conflict, or economic shock. I'm asking you to join me in my efforts by contributing to my chosen charity, Mercy Corps.
Every dollar you contribute will help Mercy Corps in thier mission to help people survive and get back on their feet when natural disaster strikes, economies collapse or conflict erupts. Mercy Corps is active in more than 40 countries and over the past 3 decades has helped more than 190 million people worldwide.
A contribution of any amount helps, but here are some suggestions :
- $15 (a nickel for every day I run)
- $30 (a dime for every day I run)
- $75 (a quarter for every day I run)
- $300 (a dollar for every day I run)
