A Daughter's Goofy Challenge in Memory of Bob Werner

I'm coming up on the two-year mark of my Dad's untimely passing due to cancer. I've opted to run a race in his memory each year. Last year was my first mudrun-a respectable 3.1 miles filled with various obstacles. This year, I am running the Goofy Challenge in Disney, characters and all, with my Dad's brother-in-law, Bob Harris. It's 39.3 Miles over the course of two days. Trust me, I clearly hear Dad in my head saying, "Oh Dawny, Dawny, Dawny, there are much easier ways to raise donations," but all lemonade stand ideas were taken. Plus, if I tell everyone I'm doing it I can't chicken out.

I am three-months out for the Goofy Challenge. My goal is to raise money for both the Abramson Cancer Center of Philadelphia, as Dad was the fortunate recipient of two clinical trials, which I believe helped extend his quality of life, and to the Bryn Mawr Mainliners, where my father sang barbershop for over fourteen years. You can follow my training progress on FB where I post my runs from the nike run app.

Any amount of support I can generate would make a faithful daughter happy, and a not-so-old guy smile from above.
