THE STORY:

UPDATE (02/03/16): Mission accomplished. After a successful last push, we have secured funds for a half-page ad that will be published in The Boston Globe on Friday morning.  We thank you for your generosity and for contributing to this one cause of many in support of the stability of Suffolk University.

Fellow alumni, students, members of the faculty, staff, and concerned parties:

This is an effort to solicit resources for the purchase of a full-page ad in The Boston Globe that expresses the concerns, frustrations and general sentiments of Suffolk University alumni towards the Suffolk University Board of Trustees. Recent stories in The Boston Globe and Boston Herald have illuminated a longstanding history of questionable governance by the Board, the results of which have mired the University's faculty and student morale, as well as alumni's faith in the future stability of the institution.

The last line in Suffolk University's vision statement reads: "We will inspire investment in a Suffolk community that is built on ethical, forward-thinking leadership, teamwork, and cooperation." It is these principles that we, as members of the Suffolk community, learned from our University and carry forth in our respective lives. In staying true to these principles, we intend to hold the Board of Trustees equally accountable to these standards.

Your contribution will ensure, through a united community, that students—both past and present--are the true arbiters of Suffolk University’s mission.

The number of individuals who coalesce marks the success of this campaign.  Whether you donate $1 or $100, each name signifies a member of the Suffolk University community who stands for holding the Trustees accountable for the integrity and stability of the University.

With thanks and admiration to faculty and staff who have spoken up. I'm sure it's a very difficult position to take. 3 years ago

Staff members are continuously left out of the support acknowledgement. Our jobs are on the line, but we are still here anyway. 3 years ago
