Adopt A Student 4 The Holiday
Organized by: Alicia Champion
Marion Law Academy is the host of 700+ elementary and middle school students in the high poverty zone of Detroit, Michigan who are in need of various things from school uniforms, coats, and boots for the winter, beds to sleep on, school supplies, and so much more. Many students come to school depressed from the pain of not having these things and it tends to mold how they go about their day which is usually angry, suicidal, criminal thoughts, and even bullying of others from envy.
For the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to give them a reason to smile and feel hopeful going into the Christmas Holiday by raising enough funds for the 287 listed students in need of assistance in these various areas that they need help with. This year could be an influx of students because some of our families have been flooded out throughout the summer's rainfall so this total is just for how much has been assessed for the amount of students that have expressed a need though sadly there are more students and parents whose pride will not let them voice their need.
