Adopting In America: Getting To Parenthood
Organized by: Mary Lausman
Hello, my name is Mary Allen Austria Lausman, and my husband and I are in hot pursuit to adopt. Over the last six months the average adoption costs have shifted from $10K-$20K to $20K-$40K. The mounting costs, at this time, are just too expensive without help. We plan to take out a $15K loan as well, which is the maximum amount we can afford, just in case the adoption hits the $40K mark, but your help would be greatly appreciated.
This is our story.............. We met in 2000, and were married by 2005. We tried for many years to try to have biological children, but it just wasn't in God's plan for us. We started the adoption process in April 2014, but we are finally in a place to purse this goal fully. We had to delay the process until time healed us, because we had lost two family members in 2014, while I was also fighting Uncontrolled Epilepsy for about a year and a half after taking one initial fertility sequence, and by July of 2014 we had to also accept that we could not have biological children after dreaming about it for close to six years.
In 2016, now that time has passed, and I have been seizure free for over a year, we are now ready to become loving adoptive parents and are both on this journey together, to have a family, and make this dream happen. Please give any help you can and send any prayers our way, as we go along this journey. Thank you.
