Our family is growing! Sappington party of 5 is growing to the Sappington Six! We have always had a soft spot for adoption. We have supported, cheered for and prayed for friends and family over the years who have taken the step of adoption already. What a beautiful way to show God's love....by taking a child who is parentless and adopting them as your own. This has become our hearts' desire and passion. Over a period of weeks, I (Shannon) was looking through Waiting Children and came across a little girl with special needs. This little girl needs reconstructive surgeries on both ears and procedures on both of her eyes as well. I 'saved' her profile and kept scrolling through children. But, I kept going back to this little girl. Something about her drew me and I soon found myself thinking about her all of the time. I inquired for more information on her and I showed her profile to Jay. We have been praying about the right time to adopt in our lives. On Friday, February 13th, Jay and I were once again discussing the topic of adoption and this precious little girl. He looked at me and said, "I tell you what, if we can find a way to fundraise and trust the Lord to provide financially for this adoption, then let's do it." I replied, "But wait. IF we do this, will you be able to call her your daughter? Will she be as your own flesh and blood child?" With tears in his eyes, he said, "You know how soft my heart is. That won't be a problem." I squealed and cried tears of joy as I hugged him tightly! That day, we stepped out in faith and said yes to Annika Faith Sappington. We have fallen in love with this precious child who is in China and we cannot wait to have her with us. We have officially begun the journey of adoption to bring her home. We have been very blessed by everyone who is excited for us in our adoption process. If you would like to and are able to contribute financially, here is one way you can. Prayers are ALWAYS appreciated and welcomed too! To God be the glory in every step of this journey of love....
